The difference between tapping screws and ordinary screws is reflected

The general screw must have a good processing screw hole to screw in. Self-tapping screws do not need to be screwed in their own tapping at the same time. For the purpose of self-tapping, such screws are generally pointed in order to squeeze into the object to be screwed.

1. Self-tapping screw is a kind of screw with a drill bit. Hexagonal screws are constructed by special electric tools, which can be drilled, tapped, fixed and locked at one time. Self-tapping screws are mainly used for the connection and fixing of some thin plates, such as the connection of color steel plate and color steel plate, the connection of color steel plate and purlin, wall beam, etc., the penetration capacity is generally not more than 6mm, the maximum is not more than 12mm.

2. Self-tapping screws are often exposed outdoors and have strong corrosion resistance; The rubber sealing ring can ensure that the screw does not seep water and has good corrosion resistance.

3. Self-tapping screw is suitable for the use of wood material, that is, we often say wood screw. Generally, it is manual operation. Due to manpower limitation, this kind of screw is generally small and the scope of use is relatively narrow.

4. The tapping screw combines the tap with the bolt. The front is the tap, the back is the thread. In the general soft material, drill a hole can be directly screwed into. Tap out the thread, followed by the bolt thread. If the screw diameter is small, the material is also very soft. You don't even have to drill a hole first, like screw it into a piece of wood.

5. Self-tapping screws are usually described by three parameters: screw diameter series, number of threads per inch length and screw length. Screw diameter series have 10 and 12 levels, and the corresponding screw diameter is 4.87mm and 5.43mm respectively. There are 14, 16, and 24 threads per inch. The more threads per inch, the better the self-drilling ability.
